Forty-five Form 1 students from seven local schools in Kota Marudu have been selected for education sponsorship through MEF’s Program Bantuan Galakan Pelajar, also known as G-Effort. This program offers financial support that will continue until the students graduate secondary school, ensuring long-term assistance to help them achieve their academic goals and alleviate the financial burden on families from B40 backgrounds.
Ms Syerrarene Jussil, the lead program officer and representative of the foundation, spoke to the students and their families on the objectives of the program and ended her speech on an inspiring note, highlighting the transformative power of education in children’s lives.
“Knowledge is power and education has the power to shape our future. As Sabahans, we cherish our rich cultural heritage and want out children to flourish in their educa1onal journey. Let’s work together to ‘put education first, for a better tomorrow.’”
The foundation is committed to ensuring that students in rural areas, especially those who face significant disadvantages, have access to a completesecondary school education. We are excited to see the positive impacts this program will have on the lives of these students and their families. We wish these students all the best as they embark on this exciting journey towards a brighter future!
Note: MEF initiated its first sponsorship for Form 1 students in Kota Marudu district in the year, 2020. It is in its third year of the program as of today. This program has also expanded to assist students from the areas of Pitas, Matunggong, and Sapulut, with a total target of 200 students for this year.
