MEF ended the month of July on a good note by sponsoring eighteen Form 1 students from the smaller district of Matunggong, namely SMK Matunggong, SMK Pinawantai SMK Sikuati, and SMK Sikuati II under MEF’s Program Bantuan Galakan Pelajar, also known as G-Effort.
Through this program, students will receive long-term financial support from the foundation throughout their secondary school journey. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden of B40 families and provide a holistic and sustainable path for academic success.
During the event, Ms. Syerrarene Jussil, the lead program officer and foundation representative, briefed students and families on the program's objectives and the power of education.
The foundation is dedicated to providing comprehensive secondary education to disadvantaged students in rural areas. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact of this program on their lives and families, wishing them the best on their journey to a brighter future.
Note: Matunggong is MEF's third sponsored area in Sabah's impoverished northern districts. The program now extends its assistance to students from Kota Marudu, Pitas, and Sapulut, with a total target of 200 students for this year.
