NOVEMBER 16, 2023, KOTA MARUDU –
Majora Education Foundation (MEF) hosted an intimate Thanksgiving Dinner, uniting students, families, teachers, and program coordinators from Pitas and Matunggong districts.
This event, emblematic of our dedication to providing enduring financial support to sponsored students, served as a platform to acknowledge the contributions of our partners and celebrate the accomplishments of students in the G-Effort program.

Held at Dewan Komuniti Kota Marudu, the event brought together sponsored students and their families under the foundation's care. It began with individual interview sessions for all sponsored G-Effort students, aimed at understanding how they are faring in school.
The evening commenced with an introductory video about MEF, offering a glimpse into the foundation’s goals and flagship programs. The event featured vibrant performances, including songs by students from both districts and MEF’s resident songbird, as well as graceful dances by the enigmatic dance troupe “Nuansa” from UMS. The lively atmosphere continued with an engaging lucky draw and a quiz session, allowing both students and adults to win hampers for correct answers.

Program coordinators Mr. Maklin Masiau and Mdm Juliana Inggodok delivered inspiring speeches, and Ms. Rachel Ongkili, representing the Board of Trustees, announced a new academic incentive. Beginning in 2024, students who achieve A and B grades in their previous year's final exams will receive a special award, fostering a culture of academic excellence among the students.
The event concluded on a positive note, leaving attendees with full bellies, smiling faces, and a strengthened sense of community.
Looking ahead, we anticipate more memorable, enjoyable, and meaningful gatherings fostering connections within the foundation and with our partners.
